The first 10 to 15 seconds after exposure to a hazardous substance, especially a corrosive substance, are critical. Delaying treatment, even for a few seconds, may cause serious injury. Therefore, you find many emergency showers spread over the chemical plant and providing additional insights in the usage of your existing safety showers and eyewash stations will increase safety and efficiency. The signal indicating that the safety shower is in use will improve Emergency first responder times, incident reporting, time stamp of inspections and detect failures caused by malfunctions of the actuator.
The Aloxy Emergency shower solution is built up in three parts, the IIOT platform, the communication infrastructure (LPWAN network) and the Aloxy Emergency shower sensors.
The IIOT platform is hosted in the cloud or on premise and is required to accurately determine the Shower position.
The Aloxy sensors communicate wirelessly with the IIOT platform through a low power wide Area network (LPWAN). Aloxy products can use different protocols such as LoRaWAN and DASH7.
Not connected Emergency showers are risky.
The Aloxy emergency shower solution is a disruptive technology using different inertial sensors to collect raw data, a patent pending algorithm is implemented to translate this into an accurate valve position signal.
The use of this unique methodology provides unique advantages when applying the sensor on an emergency shower or eye wash resulting in a unique low-cost solution to get accurate wireless on - off position feedback.
The sensor can be mounted anywhere on the moving part (handle or activation arm) of the shower / eye wash. This creates enormous flexibility in mounting and does not require you to obtain any dimensions upfront or build customized brackets, reducing installation cost significantly.
Once the sensor is installed it can be easily calibrated in the closed and open position by using the sensor push buttons.
The Aloxy Pulse complies with the essential safety requirements of the European ATEX Directive and US Class1 Div 2 certification
Learn MoreIn case an emergency shower is not connected, the real time position of eye washers and emergency showers in often unknown.
Having the on or off position available in real time increases safety, reliability and efficiency
When an emergency shower or eye wash is used, time is of the essence. Getting a real time signal when the shower is in use can safe lives!
Following local regulations, emergency showers need to be regularly opened. This is now automatically time stamped, logged and can be used to monitor this has been done.
Incident reporting is key to increase safety by learning from what went wrong. Every usage of a shower is recorded and can be used to automatically trigger an incident report.
Keep up to date with developments in the IIOT domain.
